LAPEER — Catchy tunes are her stock in trade. She’s a singer, songwriter, composer, musical collaborator, jingle writer/singer, voice-over artist, and, on Friday, Feb. 2, she will be the headliner in the second Lapeer Music series at the PIX.
You might find yourself listening to Larin and thinking how familiar she sounds; she should be. She is the voice of a number of commercials. Think Ford and Lincoln Mercury. She’s also familiar to those who’ve caught her act at downtown Abruzzo’s in the last two years.
“ Basically, I am a full-time composer, “ she says. “ I’m in the process of working out some dates in Europe . I want to play as many of their summer festivals as I can. “ She also is busily finishing up a new CD (available soon on www. lizlarin. com). The working title: Ten songs in ten days. “ But I really haven’t named it yet, “ she admits.
Larin will be playing “ 10 in 10” songs Friday night. In the meantime, when you hear a Meijer or Pella jingle, know that she is collecting a residual. — Rosie Cosens |
